HIPAA Act Horror Story
Why make sure you and your loved have signed authorizations allowing family members access to medical records? Here's a good example. Although this story takes place in Massachusetts, HIPAA is a federal law, and similar problems can arise in any state. I recommend that all of my clients execute HIPAA Authorization Forms.
